GYSFLASH 51.48 CNT FV (ref. 072015) — GYS's 50 A connected charger and battery support unit for 6 to 48 V batteries. It holds a vehicle's battery at a stable voltage while the car is awake for diagnostics, and charges traction batteries on forklifts, scissor lifts and floor scrubbers with dedicated profiles.
- Diagnostic support: 12, 16, 24 and 48 V vehicles, up to 50 A
- Charging: 12, 16, 24 and 48 V lead-acid or LFP lithium batteries, 10 to 600 Ah; voltage adjustable from 6 to 48 V for traction batteries
- Showroom mode, plus a tester for battery, starter and alternator
- Flexible Voltage: runs on any supply from 85 to 265 V
- USB: add or change charging modes and profiles, export the charge history; SMC module socket
- 5 m (16 ft) cables, made in France
Low or upright: the 51.48 has a low case, 13 cm (5.1 in) high, that sits on a bench, a shelf or a cart. For a unit mounted on the wall or the lift, the GYSFLASH 53.48 CNT FV is the same 50 A, 6 to 48 V unit in an upright case, with its cables on a front reel.
For Tesla: recent Teslas run a 16 V lithium-ion low-voltage battery (Model S and X since the 2021 refresh, Model 3 and Y from about 2021–2022), the Cybertruck runs a 48 V low-voltage system, and older models use 12 V. The 51.48 supports 12, 16, 24 and 48 V vehicles in diagnostic mode, so one unit keeps any Tesla's low-voltage system powered while the car is awake in the shop: diagnostics, camera and sensor calibrations, setting up replaced parts. For spot welding, follow Tesla's repair procedure and disconnect the low-voltage power first.
What the amps mean: while a car is awake in the shop for diagnostics or calibrations, its computers, fans and pumps keep drawing current. The support unit supplies that current at a set voltage, so the battery doesn't drain and the session isn't cut short by low voltage. The 51.48 gives up to 50 A from 6 to 24 V on 240 V (44 A on a 120 V outlet), and 50 A at 36–48 V on 240 V (about 25 A on a 120 V outlet). For vehicles that draw more, the GYSFLASH 101.24 gives up to 100 A, up to 24 V.
What's automatic, and what you set:
- It starts by itself. With Auto-Detect on, connect the clamps and the mode you selected starts after 3 seconds, no button to press. You can switch Auto-Detect off in the settings.
- It charges by itself. The charge runs start to finish without supervision (8 steps for lead, 9 for lithium): it checks the battery, brings back a deeply discharged one from 2 V, charges it, then holds it full, so it can stay connected.
- It restarts by itself. After a power cut, Auto-Restart starts it again with the same settings.
- You set the rest. Choose the mode (lead or lithium charge, Diag+, Showroom or Tester), then the battery type, its voltage (6 to 48 V; 16 V takes the extra step below) and its size in Ah; in Diag+, the voltage to hold and the maximum current. The unit does not pick the voltage for you: it checks the battery first and stops with an error code if it doesn't match, a 24 V battery in 12 V mode for example.
- 16 V for Tesla takes one extra step. As delivered, Diag+ offers 12, 24 and 48 V. The 16 V setting comes with the Car Extended setup of GYS's free configurator (next point), loaded once from a USB stick.
- Optional: GYS's free configurator. Most shops use the unit as delivered and never need it. The configurator is a free GYS web page (no account, nothing to install) that makes a small settings file you load from a USB stick, to add extra modes: 16 V for Tesla, Change Battery (keeps the car powered while you swap its battery, so the modules keep their memory), start assist, an adjustable power supply or forklift-battery charging.
