Drive rolls for GYS wire feeders
The drive roll grips the wire and pushes it to the torch. It has to match the wire: a V groove for steel and stainless, a U groove for aluminum so the soft wire is not crushed, a knurled groove for flux-cored wire. Each roll carries two sizes, one on each side, and GYS makes two types: type A for the compact welders and type B for the body shop and three-phase machines. The welder's manual says which type it takes; the product pages here list the welders for each roll.
What to stock
- One set of rolls per wire you run: steel 0.8/1.0 and aluminum 0.8/1.0 cover most body shops.
- The eco reel adapter lets the D.300 welders take the 16 kg eco reels.
- Check the groove when feed gets erratic; a steel roll on aluminum wire is the usual cause.
